K1 Whiteland Club Race
This weekend didn’t go the way I wanted or expected.
Friday started off wet, but I had the speed and felt confident. Saturday, I was fast—until I wasn’t. As the day went on, I stayed the same while everyone else found more speed. My team worked hard and tried a lot of different things, but nothing seemed to click. Between struggling with pace and dealing with pushback bumper penalties, I found myself stuck in the back all day Saturday and starting from the rear on Sunday.
In Sunday’s pre-final, I was making moves through the field when a crash happened in front of me. I had nowhere to go and got caught up in it. At that point, my mindset was honestly, “Can this day be over already?” We got the kart back together in time for the final, but it just wasn’t enough to turn things around.
Something was off all weekend, and we couldn’t get it right. But that’s racing—some weekends test you more than others. Time to reset, refocus, and come back stronger for this Thursday in North Carolina United States Pro Kart Series with A-Maxx Racing!
